Lorenzo Teixeira is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC#3812) in the state of California, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S#2659), and National Certified Counselor (NCC#284152). Lorenzo has been working in the mental health field for well over a decade, providing clinical services to a diverse population of children, adolescents, parents, and families. He provides services for children of all ages - toddlers through teens. Lorenzo specializes in the use of Play Therapy to help children and teens work their challenges that have been affecting their functioning and impacting the family system.

Lorenzo works with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, such as anxiety, depression, achievement pressure, academic adjustment, school stress, poor social skills, low self-esteem, divorce, grief, trauma, aggression or disruptive behaviors, life transitions, or anything getting in the way of being happy.

 

Lorenzo is also certified in AutPlay Therapy - a play therapy and behavioral therapy treatment approach for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental disorders, and other neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD, social pragmatic communication disorder, Tourette's syndrome, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, fragile X, seizure disorders, sensory processing disorder, and intellectual developmental disorder). This approach is most beneficial for children ages 3-18 with a severe to mild impairment level in social functioning, emotional regulation, and relationship development.

Lorenzo provides supervision to Professional Clinical Counselors Associates and Marriage and Family Therapists Associates who are working towards their California State licensure. Lorenzo also provides supervision and training to mental health therapists seeking their Registered Play Therapy credential.
